Kano reinstates Hisbah officer suspended over alleged palliative diversion

Kano state Hisbah board has issued a letter recalling and reinstating Dala local government Hisbah Commander Suyudi Muhammad Hassan who was initially suspended over alleged diversion of palliatives meant for the local government area.

The letter with reference number KN/HB/OPS/88/04/V.II/191 signed by the state’s Hisbah board’s Principal Assistant Secretary Muhammad Babangida D/Iya was made available to newsmen in Kano, explaining that after investigations have been carried out the suspended office has been found not guilty of the offences he was accused on.

“I am directed to inform you that, the Commander General has approved the re-instatement of Suyudi Muhammad Hassan as Commander Dala local government Hisbah,” the letter stated.

The commander was suspended after the state Hisbah command received a petition alleging that he had diverted COVID-19 palliative.

A committee of enquiry investigated the allegation.

He was suspended but retained at the Hisbah state command as an active official pending the outcome of the investigation.

The committee found all allegations against him false and fabricated to malign him.

With his recall, he resumed as commandant Hisbah of Dala local government.
