Kano records 61 Gender-Based Violence in 3 months

The Centre for Information Technology and Development, CITAD, has recorded 61 cases of Gender-based violence (GBV) in Kano State within the months of September and December.

This is part of its continuing effort to curb GBV in the society and to promote the wellbeing of women and the girl child, including creating a safe and secure educational environment with support from Ford Foundation.

The centre has implemented a project titled “Strengthening Citizens Response and Protection Against Gender Based Violence in Kano, Nigeria” aimed at achieving a serene atmosphere for women and girls free from gender violence and discrimination.
