The Kano State Government has made adequate provisions in the 2022 budget for a successful implementation of free and compulsory education policy in the state.
The Commissioner for Education, Sunusi Sa’idu Kiru, stated this while speaking to newsmen shortly after defending the ministry’s 2022 budget at the Kano State House of Assembly.

He pointed out that the policy would require a lot of resources to cover millions of children, especially those at the grassroots to achieve the desired objectives.
“The state government has allocated high percentage of the 2022 budget to education sector including the ministry for higher education to fight against illiteracy and unemployment in the society,” he said.
Kiru however noted that the assembly had promised to assist the ministry through the 2022 budget to enable the sector to discharge its duties effectively.
