Election has commenced in various polling units in Kano state as early as 8am, Daily Trust can report.
Daily Trust reporter noticed that election materials have been deployed to the affected polling units in time.
Security personnel were also deployed to the areas where the re-run election is holding, Our reporter observed.
However, there is tension and fears among electorates in Gama ward where the two major contenders Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expecting more votes.
Gama, a densely populated ward has over 40,000 registered voters.
Reports indicates that political thugs have already taken over the area, thereby intimidating both voters and electoral officers.
