Kano Pillars Football Club has recruited 22 new players to strengthen its team ahead of the 2022/2023 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Media Officer of the club, Malam Idris Malikawa, yesterday in Kano.

According to him, the 22 new players will join 18 players the club retained from the 2021/2022 season.

“We had an open screening, which ended recently, led by Coach Evans Ogenyi, from that, we were able to get five young players from the feeder team.

”We had 17 players from various clubs across the country to add to the 18 retained from the team of the past season.

“With this, I can state clearly that we will present a formidable team to compete favourably when the season starts,” Malikawa said.

He said that the players would further go for medical screening before their final contractual agreement and registration with the team.

Malikawa warned, ”Any player found medically unfit would be dropped from the team for the forthcoming football season.”

Kano Pillars was one of the four clubs relegated to the NNL after an abysmal performance in the 2021/2022 NPFL season.

The management of the club appointed Mr Evans Ogenyi as the new Technical Adviser to restructure the team and restore its lost glory.
