A statement signed by the chairman of the council, Ismail Ammai Maizare, urged the federal government to hasten the implementation of the Justice Muhammadu Uwais recommendation on electoral reform in the best interest of the nation.

The council also expressed dismay over the slow pace of work being carried out at the Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano, calling on the federal government to intervene, as there is the need for the rehabilitation to continue.

The union further called for the reversal of the policy on subsidy removal in the downstream sector of the economy, noting that the removal would only aggravate the existing hardship Nigerians are put into.

On the current industrial action embarked by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), the union called on the federal government to find an amicable solution to the face-off, saying it would be in the interest of the education sector and the image of the nation.
