In a statement signed by the institution’s Head of Corporate Communications Abdullahi Abba Hassan, Hamma said arrangements have been concluded and already the university has written to the National Universities Commission (NUC) for approval.
He said one of the proposed courses is Basic Medical Sciences, adding that when fully introduced, the Dawakin Kudu Diagnostic Centre, which the university was taking from Pfizer Company would be utilized for the course. Also to be introduced among others is the Department of Library and Information Sciences.
The pro chancellor further stated that the first budget of the university has been produced, adding: “The budget has defined exactly where we are and where we intend to go. It also defined the level of responsibility of each department in the university as well as the equipment and resources required to run departments on a rational structured method that can be easily accountable to the administration”.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress made at the university’s permanent site.
