The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) says it received 276 cases from January to March 2021 in Kano State.
Alhaji Shehu Abdullahi, the State Coordinator of the commission, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Kano.

According to Abdullahi, out of the 276 cases, 203 have been completed while 73 were still ongoing.
“Some of the cases include abandonment, child abuse, domestic violence, sexual and gender-based violence, rape, indecent assault, neglect of parental responsibility among others.
“The commission will collaborate with other stakeholders including the Ministry of Justice, that promote and protect human rights,” he said. (NAN)
