Kano State government has announced the establishment of a governing board for the State Primary Health Care Management Board to meet requirements for the implementation of the Basic Primary Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF).
This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary, Kano State Primary Health Care Management Board (SPHCMB), Dr Tijjani Hussaini, who was represented by the Director Medical Services of the board, Dr Imam Wada, during a three-day workshop for the members of the SPHCMB and the management staff of the board, as well as members of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency on understanding the guidelines for the implementation of the BHCPF organised by Lafiya Project.

In his remarks, a representative of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Mr. Adeniyi Ekisila, urged the state government to continue giving more attention to the health sector to achieve an effective implementation of the project in the state.
