Parents claiming paternity of the 11 missing children found in Anambra state are currently awaiting the outcome of a DNA test conducted to ascertain paternity of the children due to multiple claims by parents both from Kano and Anambra states on the children.
This was disclosed to Daily Trust by Kano state commissioner of Information Malam Muhammad Garba.

According to him, after the discovery of the children Kano state government had sponsored members of the parents of missing children association, members of the state enquiry committee, the police and medical personnel to Anambra state to put forward a claim to the discovered children.
He added that multiple claims by both parents from Kano and Anambra on some of the discovered children has necessitated the need to conduct a DNA test.
The test was unanimously agreed to.
“All expenses were taken care of for the travel of members of the parents of missing children association, members of the state enquiry committee, the police and medical personnel,” revealed the commissioner.
“They met with relevant authorities there; the irony was that we found out that multiple parents had put claims to some discovered children.
“That is why we agreed to conduct a DNA test which was conducted and as I speak with you, we are awaiting the result of the DNA test conducted to allow for these children to reunite with their parents.”
In January this year, additional children missing from the state were found in Anambra and Enugu state.
Since the discovery, Kano state government has been making efforts to reunite the discovered children with their parents.
