Kano kicks defending champions Kwara out of 2022 Ramat Cup

Ramat Cup defending champions, Kwara State U-16 football team have been eliminated from the 39th edition of the competition by host Kano state.

The more enterprising boys from Kano shocked their opponents from Kwara State 2-0 in yesterday’s match played at the Sani Abacha stadium in Sabon-gari.

The annual tournament organised by the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria in honour former Nigeria’s Head of State, Late General Murtala Ramat Mohammed is now in the quarter-final stage.

Kano’s Imran Musa and Ali Auwal scored a goal each in the second half of the highly entertaining match to seal victory for the hosts.

In an earlier encounter, Abuja academy defeated their Kebbi state counterpart 2-1.

Speaking after the march, the Director, Abuja Academy, Enes Cayli, said he was excited by the opportunity to attend the youth competition which he described as a dream come true.

The 39th edition of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) Ramat Cup kicked off on Sunday in the ancient city of Kano.
