The Kano State Internal Revenue Service (KIRS) has announced the removal of eight directors from their positions, ordering them to hand over all duties and responsibilities to their deputies.
KIRS Chairman, Sani Abdulkadir Dambo, communicated their removal in a circular.
“As part of the ongoing efforts towards achieving the desired objectives of the present government, I am directed to inform you that the undermentioned directors have been relieved of their responsibilities and are to hand over to their deputies immediately,” the circular read.

This development comes one week after the Supreme Court affirmed the election of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, reversing his sacking by the Appeal Court.
The affected departments’ directors include Director Assessment, Muhammad Kabir Umar; Director Human Resource, Kabiru Magaji; Director Government Business, Ibrahim Sammani; Aminu Umar Kawu, Director Road and Other Taxes, and Muhd Auwal Abdullahi, Director Tax Audit, Investigation & Debt Management.
Other directors include Abubakar Garba Yusuf, Director ICT, Hamisu Ado Magaji, Director PAYE, and Bashir Yusuf Madobi, Director Legal & Enforcement.
