Special Adviser on Sports to Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State, Mallam Ahmed Shuaibu-Gara Gombe, who reacted to the decision, in a telephone interview with Daily Trust yesterday, also described as harsh the decision to fine the club and order the match replayed.
Gombe, who noted that the action of the soccer fans to pour onto the field to celebrate the 87th minute goal was uncalled for, however appealed to both the LMC and the NFF to review downward the penalties imposed on Pillars.
“The decision of the LMC to banish Pillars to play their next home games in either Kaduna or Lagos, fine the team and order the match to be replayed 90 minutes is a harsh one. What we expected the LMC to do is to order Enyimba to go and complete the remaining three minutes of the match. But to order the match to be replayed full 90 minutes is inappropriate.
“However, we appeal to the LMC and the NFF to take a second look at the decisions so far taken and review them downward,” Gombe stated.
