The Kano State Government, through the Ministry of Environment, has honoured seven of its staff for emerging as best-performing street sweepers for the month of August, 2022.
Presenting the certificates of commendation, Shadda brocade and cash incentives to the awardees, the state Commissioner of Environment, Dr Kabiru Ibrahim Getso, said the gesture was to appreciate and recognise hard-working staff across all cadres in the state.

He said, “This is an innovation introduced by the ministry with a view to improving the performance of staff on duty regardless of their cadre for others to tighten their belts and do the needful.”
The commissioner maintained that the ministry would continue to identify and honour such staff monthly.
The staff awarded were, Malan Ahmed Haruna, Sani Adamu, Kabiru Idris, Yusuf Usman (Sarkin ruwa), Rabiu Abubakar and Alh. Umar Nuhu (Baban Bola).
Responding on behalf of the awardees, Alh Umar Nuhu Baban Bola expressed their appreciation and their pledge to continue to put in their best to ensure a clean and safe
