The Kano State government has donated cows and food items to inmates in custodial centres in the state to enable them to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf donated the items through the chairperson of the Kano State Prerogative of Mercy Committee, Azumi Namadi Bebeji.
She urged the inmates to have a sense of belonging as they are part of society while assuring the inmates of the relentless support and assistance of the state government.
She called on the inmates to pray for the governor as well as the state government so that they would continue to provide the dividends of democracy to all and sundry.

The Controller of Corrections, Kano State Command, Sulaiman Inuwa, appreciated the state government for the gesture and informed the governor’s envoy that the Nigerian Correctional Service was always ready to partner with the government to enhance criminal justice administration in the state.
He said the donation would motivate the inmates to be productive and law-abiding citizens after leaving the custodial centres.
