The Kano State Fire Service has said that it saved 26 lives and property worth N17 million in 22 fire incidents in June.
Spokesman of the service, Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, who disclosed this to newsmen, said that nine persons lost their lives, while property worth N6.7m were destroyed by fire during the period under review.
He said, “The service received 22 fire calls. The total number of rescue calls was 18 and false alarms were four.
“Estimated property destroyed by fire were worth N6,700,500, and estimated property saved by our men in different disasters were worth N17, 200,000.”

He, therefore, advised the public to handle fire with care and continue to clear drains to avoid incidents.
