She explained that over nine laboratories in the multimillion Naira structure have been damaged and that the fabricated tomato processing plant meant to ease tomato wastage has been affected as well.
According to her, a heavy windstorm during the weekend blew off the roof of the newly constructed structure situated in Kano state causing serious damage to it.
She added that if not for the disaster, the structure when fully commissioned, the zonal office would provide job opportunities to many people in the state.
While appealing to the Kano state government and other related agencies to come to the institute’s aid in putting the structure back together, the chairman business and investment committee of the board, Chief Ajayi Nicholas, revealed that the damages incurred had seriously affected the huge investment made by the institute in Kano adding that something needs to be done as soon as possible to put the multimillion Naira structure into use.
