Kano father beats son to death over gallons of palm oil

Police in Kano have arresyed Awaisu Auwalu, 40, resident of Samegu quarters in Kano, for beating his son to death over missing gallons of palm oil in his provision store.

The command Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, while confirming the incident said, Awaisu used a stick and beat his 19 years old son, Auwalu Awaisu, to death.

Haruna Kiyawa, said upon receiving the report, the victim was rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where he died on Monday at about 0600hrs.

During investigation, the father confessed he flogged his son with a stick, alleging that the deceased stole severally from his provision store.

“However, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, ordered that the case be transferred to the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department, Homicide Section for discreet investigation,” Kiyawa added.

According the PPRO, the suspect (the father) will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
