The Kano Emirate Council, on Wednesday, called for calm following the violent #EndSARS protest that has been rocking the country.
The council said the importance of peace cannot be underestimated, adding that no meaningful development could be obtained without peace.
This was contained in a statement signed by a senior council member of the palace and Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Abbas Sunusi and made available to newsmen in Kano.
“We are ready to listen to people and help them address their grievances with their leaders,” the council added in the statement.
It then called on citizens of the state and the country, in general, to intensify prayer for the country to come out of the challenge.
Daily Trust reports that the protest, which started about two weeks ago, with a call to disband the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the Nigeria Police has turned violent in many parts of the country, including Kano, with loss of lives and destruction of property.
