Kano state Regional Institute for Security and Development Studies in collaboration with African Development Studies Center (ADSC) has organised a three-day security conference on planning for better preparedness in managing security risks in the state.
Addressing participants at the event, the Secretary to the Kano state government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, said the state government has taken serious measures in ensuring a stable and sustainable security in the state especially in the last three years of Governor Ganduje’s administration.
He added that, the peace being enjoyed in the state presently isn’t an accident but an outcome of serious government’s commitment to a better security approaches.
Earlier in his address, the Director, Kano state Regional Institute for Security and Development Studies, Ambassador Victor Walsh Oluwafemi, said the conference is organised to equipped major stakeholders on how to plan against possible security risk that may occur in the society.
He added that it is not in the best interest to wait for challenges to occur before taking measures.
He noted that at the end of the conference participants will be able to plan and effectively manage security issue when they arise and also addresses other issues especially as we approach 2019 general elections.
