A Kano Shari’ah Court sitting at Gama PRP has ordered the remand of one Musa Okashatu Gobirawa in a correctional facility for threatening to kill some elderly persons.

The offence contradicts Section 227 of the Shari’ah Penal Code 2,000.

The accused was arraigned after a complaint was filed before the police division at Bachirawa by Muhammad Sani Hussain and Bashir Namoriki who are members of the Gobirawa community committee.

The accused however agreed that he made the statements when the prosecutor, Aliyu Abidin Murtala, read out the charges levelled against him, adding that he was angered when the committee members said a plot of land was not his and were trying to take it away from him.

The judge, Mallam Nura Yusuf Ahmed, ordered his remand in a correctional facility and adjourned the case until January 11, 2024.
