A Kano Shari’ah court sitting at the Kano State Hisbah Board has sentenced eight men to three months in prison for wearing women’s clothes and reckless dancing in Kano metropolis.
City & Crime learnt that the suspects were apprehended during a wedding at Kofar Waika in Gwale LGA of the state.
They had pleaded guilty to the charges and pleaded for mercy.
The Khadi, Mallam Sani Tamim Sani Hausawa, sentenced each of them to three months with an option of N10,000 fine each and ordered that they should be given 10 lashes of the cane each.

Reacting to the judgment, the Deputy Commandant General, Hisbah Board, Dr. Mujahiddin Aminuddin Abubakar, said the board would not allow illicit behaviours in the state.
