Kano LG chairman dies 3 days after winning polls

Ali Namadi, who won last Saturday’s local government election in Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State, is dead.

Namadi died on Tuesday around 1:00a.m, according to his campaign’s public relations officer, Ibrahim Tiga.

His was announced early Tuesday, three days after the state’s electoral commission confirmed his victory.

The cause of his death is not yet known.

Namadi was among the successful APC chairmanship candidates in the just concluded local government council elections held on Saturday 16th January, 2021 who are still awaiting their swearing in.

His funeral prayers will take place in his hometown, Bebeji, on Tuesday morning, Tiga added.
