Kano boy declared missing 3 years after his brother disappeared

A 16-year-old boy, Idris Auwal, has been declared missing at Hotoro, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State, three years after his sibling also got missing and is yet to be found.

The mother of the teenager, Shema’u Idris, told newsmen in Kano, that the boy hasn’t been found since three days now, which is exactly three years after his elder brother, Abdullahi Auwal, went missing and is still yet to be found.

According to her, three days ago (on Thursday), “My son went missing. On Thursday around 2pm, he fetched water and got ready to take his bath. He then left the bucket and told his siblings that he was coming.

“He went out, but since then, he has not returned home. We have gone to many places in search for him but have not found him. I appeal to security agencies to help me find my son.”

According to Mrs Idris, all efforts to find her son have so far proved unsuccessful and appealed to the authorities to come to her aid.

She said Auwal is her second child to have gone missing after his sibling, Abdullahi Auwal, who also went missing since September 2019 when he was 17 years old.

“I am devastated. This is my second child that is missing. His elder brother, Abdullahi is still missing. I beg government and security agents to come to my aid,” she appealed.

They said the matter had been reported to the state police command but efforts to get reaction from the spokesman of the command, SP Abdullahi  Haruna Kiyawa, were unsuccessful up to the time of filing this report.
