The Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) says it has commenced preparation for the forthcoming local government elections in the state scheduled for 2021.
The Chairman of the commission, Professor Garba Ibrahim Sheka, who revealed this on Wednesday when he hosted the executive members of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), added that the commission would carry all political parties along in the process.

Sheka said the negative experience of the commission with the delay of working materials during the last 2018 election had also been taken care of.
He said in a statement issued by the spokesman of the commission Dahiru Lawan Wambai, that all necessary arrangement for the conduct of the elections had been put in the pipeline and that the commission would continue to ensure a hitch-free and fair election.
The state chairman of IPAC, Isa Nuhu Isa, assured the commission of its continuous support to ensure a free, fair and credible election.
Daily Trust reports that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje had earlier in July embarked on the repositioning of the ruling APC structure in the 44 local government areas ahead of the forthcoming council elections.
The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Abba Anwar, said in an earlier statement that the governor had set up several committees such as reconciliation committee among others to go round all the wards and local governments to further strengthen party structures and membership performances.
