Kano State Agro-Pastoral Development Project (KSADP), has announced the award of two contracts totalling N162, 205, 000, for the supply of chopping machines and materials for crop residue utilisation.
A statement issued by the project Communications Specialist, Ameen K Yassar, said the contract was awarded for the supply of 200 crop residue chopping machines, while the other one was awarded for the supply of assorted crop residue utilisation materials.

According to the statement, the idea behind this intervention is to use resources available within farms to create jobs and enhance agricultural productivity.
It further stated that the crop residue utilisation initiative would consolidate the KSADP’s intended cattle fattening, small ruminant fattening and small ruminant reproduction schemes, which are expected to create employment opportunities for about 4, 000 women and youth.
