Kano State House of Assembly Wednesday approved a N10bn loan request by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for the installation of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras on the state roads.
Speaker Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari read the letter at the plenary Wednesday.

The governor said in the letter that the loan was for developing Optic Cyber and installing CCTV cameras in all strategic locations within the metropolis and headquarters of the five emirate councils among others.
Ganduje said the project became necessary due to the alarming rate of insecurity in the North West.
He added that the loan payment schedule included a tenor of 10 years inclusive of a 12-month moratorium.
