The Kano State Executive Council has approved N245 million for the conduct of mass wedding statewide.
In 2019 the state government had married off 1,500 couples drawn across the 44 local government areas of the state.
A statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammed Garbq and made available to newsmen disclosed this on Saturday.
Kano Pillars get N274 million
The council also approved the release of N274.2 million to Kano Pillars FC to facilitate the smooth conduct of the 2020/2021 National Professional Football League season.
According to the statement, the Kano State Executive Council has also approved the release of N29. 3million for the 2020/2021 vaccination exercise in pastoral communities, which was suspended for three years because of the prevailing health risks and economic losses affecting some communities in the state.
The Commissioner further disclosed that the Council has approved over N1.2 billion for the completion of the rehabilitation of Ahmadu Bello Way, and N212.9 million for the reconstruction of Dangote Female Hostel at Kano University of Science and Technology Wudil.
