The Kano State government has approved an upward review of a contract for the completion of five-kilometre dual carriageways in Warawa and Ungogo local government areas of the state.
The Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, said the contracts were reviewed at the sum of N1.2billion.

According to the commissioner, the council also approved the payment of N82.4million for the procurement of high-capacity electricity generators for Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital and Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital.
Garba also said that the council approved N95.3million for the payment of compensation for properties affected in the construction of Muhammadu Buhari Interchange.
The three-layer interchange is being constructed at NNPC Mega Station Rotary Intersection, Hotoro, along Maiduguri Road in Kano metropolis.
He added that the council has given approval for the payment of differences of N238.8million to incorporate all adjustments and additional work for the construction of 100 new houses and upgrading of 50 others at the Model Village in Ganduje town of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.
The project, which was awarded in January 2019 at the cost of N241.7million has now been reviewed to N480.6million.
Other projects approved by the council include N40 Million for the production of 1443A.H. Islamic Calendar by the state Shari’a Commission; N136.5million for the provision of potable water supply in Gaya town and environs; and N33.8 million contract awarded for general renovation works at the Kano Emir’s Palace among others.
