‘Kano anti-corruption commission recovers over 400 lands’

The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-corruption Commission (PCACC) said it has recovered and returned to the rightful owners over 400 plots of land of different density across the state.

The Executive Chairman of the Commission, Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, disclosed this during a joint press briefing held at the commission’s headquarters in the state on Wednesday.

The commission also recovered more than N521, 964, 122.

Rimingado added that the commission received 2256 complaints this year.

According to him, the commission was able to clamp down on hoarders of essential commodities where billions of naira products were confiscated but later released after reaching an agreement with the traders.

Rimingado said: “We are able to recover and return to the rightful owners over 400 plots of land of different density across the state.

“We have also settled more than 60 cases of sensitive security case involving farmers and herders mostly on encroachment of cattle route.

“Many people were charged to court and lingering crises were averted, especially in Dambatta, Bagwai and Tudun Wada local governments.”

He reiterated the commission’s intent to ensure Kano State continue to be listed among the highest in the country in terms of the fight against corruption.
