In a letter of invitation to polo patrons and players, the organizers stated that the prestigious coronation tourney to be decided over five days of thrilling polo action would be decided over three broad handicap categories.
Polo Royals can also disclose that glittering prizes are lined up for grabs during the event that has already attracted over twelve teams from across the country.
A release made available to Polo Royals listed cups to be contested for to include the Coronation Cup to be competed for by teams in the +5-+8 handicap category and the Nakudu Cup for handicap +1-+4 contestants.
A Kano based polo patron who confirmed his participation expressed delight at the decision by the Porto Resort to honour the Emir who is the Grand Patron of the noble game in Kano, adding that polo will continue to foster unity in the kingdom and the country at large.
