The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) has announced that 1,852,485 enrollees have accessed primary healthcare services under its scheme over the past 15 months, marking a 37% increase in the number of beneficiaries.
Dr Rahila Aliyu Mukhtar, the agency’s executive secretary, disclosed this during a consultative meeting with organised labour, focused on improving healthcare services within the scheme.
She further noted that 28,932 enrollees have utilised secondary healthcare services through participating providers, as part of the agency’s efforts to reduce out-of-pocket healthcare costs while ensuring access to quality care.
In his remarks, the state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr Abubakar Labaran Yusuf, reaffirmed the government’s support and commitment to the successful implementation of the scheme, emphasising ongoing improvements in healthcare services across the state.

The state’s Head of Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa, along with Dr Yusuf, also reiterated their dedication to the scheme’s continued success, particularly in enhancing healthcare for workers.
