The versatile Kannywood actress, Hadiza Aliyu Gabon has raised alarm over a Facebook account created with her name.
The account with the name Hadiza Gabon was soliciting for money from its followers in order to carry out philanthropist work of helping the needy, orphans, widows, physically challenged and internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The Facebook account which has the profile picture of the actress and the picture of her sharing bags of rice to three women was posted by the alleged handlers of the account to request for money from the people.
The post read “For those who want to join us, you can donate through Diamond Bank Account Name: Hadiza Gabon, Account Number: 3334142869”
Gabon who starred in ‘Alqibla’, ‘Indon Qauye’ and ‘Basaja’ in a chat with Daily Trust on Monday distanced herself from ownership of the account before issuing a stern warning to the handlers of the account.
The actress who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hadiza Aliyu Gabon Foundation, (HAG) warned that whoever was operating the account should delete it and stop defrauding people by using her name.
“Failure to do so leaves us with no option than to use technological ways to track you down wherever you are in the world and we will put charges against you,” she warned.
Gabon who won Best Actress during the 2nd Kannywood Award held in Abuja queried the handler of the account that what he did was a criminal offence.
She reiterated, “Delete this post and account with immediate effect and if you refuse, you will see how it works."
