The embattled Kannywood actress Rahama Sadau has sponsored and starred in a new Hausa film titled ‘Dan Iya’.
The film that has been set to be release by March 2018 was produced by Yunusa Mu’azu, Abba Sadau and directed by Yaseen Auwal.
The film was sponsored by Sadau Pictures – a film production company owned by the actress.
The film was a comedy that tells the story of a young man Dan Iya (Sadiq Sani Sadiq) without a proper upbringing.
Rahama said, "Once a non-violent, unruffled, peaceable and harmonious village was turned upside down by the emergence of a brat. Dan Iya is a bloody-minded young man who is raised naughtily by his grandmother. Now, no one in an entire village can curtail his excesses, not even his parent."
The film starred Rahama Sadau, Sadiq Sani Sadiq, Rabi’u Rikadawa, and Aminu Sheriff Momoh among others.
It will be recalled that on October 3rd, 2016, Rahama was expelled from Hausa film industry popularly known as Kannywood by Kano state chapter of Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN) for featuring in a romantic musical video titled ‘I Love U’ by a Jos-born singer, Classiq in which she was captured in series of hugging and cuddling the singer.
