Kannywood actor’s ailment raises dust in Hausa entertainment industry

Different reactions have followed the viral video of social media influencer and Hausa singer Aminu J Town, in which he claimed that Kannywood artists have abandoned Kannywood actor Malam Lawan Gajere, who has been sick for two years.

In the video, Aminu J. Town explained how the sick actor, who is living with a disability, told him that only Hadiza Gabon, Naziru Sarkin Waka, and a few others had assisted him while still in the sick bed. Aminu, who recently resigned as a singer and announced his repentance, described the act by the Hausa movie industry in forsaking their members as disheartening.

According to him, actors like Dauda Kahuta Rarara and Ali Nuhu, who were considered the top big shorts in the industry, have refused to assist the ailing actor despite him being an active member of the film industry.

However, shortly after the video went viral, many Kannywood artists took offence to Aminu’s video, and they took to their different social media platforms to condemn the video, tagging it as a malicious attempt to soil some selected artists names, while many others hailed Aminu’s move to get assistance for ailing Malam Lawan, who is in dire need of medical attention.
