A former governor of Abia state, Dr. Orji Kalu, has commiserated with the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi over the passing of his first wife, Ayaba Ashiawu Igbayilola.
According to the Senator-elect of Abia North, the matriarch of the Oyewumi royal family was a committed Muslim and community leader.
In a condolence message to the monarch, Kalu extolled the virtues of the deceased, while praying to Allah to give the Oyewumi family the fortitude to bear the loss.
He said, “I condole with Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, Soun of Ogbomosoland over the demise of his wife, Ayaba (Alhaja) Ashiawu Igbayilola Oyewumi.
“The late Ayaba was a supportive wife to her husband and a rallying point for the womenfolk.
“She was humble, accommodating and caring. The deceased left behind remarkable attributes for her family members to uphold.”
The former governor, who is also Aro of Ogbomoso, while commiserating with the people of Ogbomoso, prayed to Allah to grant Alhaja Oyewumi Al-Jannah Firdaus.
