Kaduna state Police Command on Sunday said the female expatriate killed by gunmen at the Kajuru Castle was a Briton.
She was identified as Miss Faye Mooney, according to the state Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo.
He said continuous efforts are still on course to rescue the kidnapped victims and bring the perpetrators to book.
“The slain expatriate lady, Miss Faye Mooney, is identified to be a Briton. She was a staff of Mercy Corps Nigeria.
“Investigation into the incident is in progress please,” he said.
Daily Trust gathered that the attackers attacked the popular Kajuru Castle around 11:30am on Friday.
It was gathered that she was at the place from Lagos with other friends as tourists.
On Saturday, a resident of the area told Daily Trust that the female expatriate was gunned down by the kidnappers.
“We understand she was gunned down from the hill by the kidnappers who tried to gain entrance into the castle but failed.
“They took away about five other locals since last night but one person escaped,” he said.
DSP Sabo, while confirming the incident in a statement today, said only two persons were killed.
