Workers in Kagarko local government council in Kaduna state are to receive their September salaries under the new minimum wage package.
The council chairman, Mr. Nasara Rabo disclosed this to newsmen in Kaduna.
The Kagarko council boss explained that the implementation of the new minimum wage at the local level became necessary in view of the urgent need to consolidate on socio-economic and political development of the state government.
He said Kagarko council would be one of the first third -tier of government to implement the new minimum wage in Kaduna State.
He said the new salary package has been worked out in accordance with the template used by the state government, stressing that the measure is to ensure uniformity and guarantee excellence.
The council chairman appealed to the people of Kenyi district in the area to live in peace with one another, irrespective of ethnic and religious differences and described recent attacks in the area as unfortunate.
He expressed his council’s resolve to support security agencies towards checking the menace of insecurity in the council.
