Family Health Initiative Advocacy in Nigeria FHANI has commended the Kaduna state government for setting up 711 Family Planning Service Delivery points across the state.
The group said the commendation became necessary because the government increased the service delivery points from 534.
Mr Iliya Kure, the Secretary of the group, at a media roundtable Kaduna, also commended the state government for training more family planning service providers in the state.
Mr Iliya explained that with proper commitment in promoting family planning policies Nigeria can reduce maternal death by 35 per cent.
“We commend the state government for training more FP service providers because they are inadequate. We also commend the state for increasing the number of service delivery points from 534 to 711 primary service points in the state.
He decried the charging of fees before women re allowed to access such services in some hospitals.
He appealed to the state governor to pay the contractor that supplied the family planning consumables to hospitals in the state in 2018.
