Some plainclothes armed security operatives from Kaduna State have arrested the Wakilin Fulani of Wako community in Kwali Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hassan Shuaibu Wakili.

A source close to the Wakilin Fulani, who preferred anonymity, said he was arrested around 7pm on Monday, when the security operatives suddenly flagged down his motorcycle while he was riding to his settlement located along Abuja-Lokoja Highway.

He said the operatives, who were in a white Sienna car without number plate came from Katari in Kaduna State and took the Wakili into their vehicle and drove off.

“The Wakilin Fulani just left Gada-Biyu while on his way to break his fasting, around 7:12 pm and while heading to his camp where he lives with his family, some detectives stopped him, alighted from their vehicle, grabbed him and whisked him away,” he said.

Daily Trust reliably learnt that the Wakilin Fulani was picked-up by the security agents for interrogation over missing cattle around some communities in Katari axis of Kaduna State.

The Madaki of Wako, Alhaji Adamu Suleiman, confirmed the arrest of the Wakili in the area by some plainclothes armed security operatives.

The chairman of Kwali Area council, Danladi Chiya, told our reporter via telephone that he was not aware of the arrest.

The spokesperson of the FCT police command, ASP Maryam Yusuf, did not pick calls or reply to a text message sent to her phone to confirm the arrest.
