Kaduna residents cautioned against looting

The Arewa Youth Coalition for Peace (AYCP) has called on youths in Kaduna State to desist from looting food items from government and private warehouses, describing the action as criminal.

The President of AYCP, Comrade Muktar Muhammad, who disclosed this in an interview with Arewa Trust Weekly, urged the state government to find ways of easing poverty among its residents, especially youths.

Comrade Muhammad also cautioned youths across the country to be patient and find something better to do instead of looting private houses in the name of searching for COVID-19 palliatives.

He said, “We as northern groups are advocating for peace and are against any form of looting; be it in public or private warehouses. ‎This is not the best way to express anger.”

‎He also urged the federal and state governments to find a lasting solution to the protests taking place across the country and stressed the need to stop all forms of police brutality as well as insecurity, adding that as true Nigerians they would not fold their hands and watch Kaduna and the country drift into anarchy.
