The Kaduna State government has announced the postponement of the second edition of its Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) summit over the Abuja-Kaduna train bombing.
At least nine people were killed and 20 others injured when terrorists attack the Abuja-Kaduna train on Monday. Many of the passengers were also kidnapped on the train converting over 300 people.
The Permanent Secretary, Planning and Budget Commission and acting Chairman, steering committee of the summit, Umma Yusuf Aboki, in a statement said the summit scheduled to hold on April 5 was postponed to sympathise with victims of the attack and mourn those killed.
While praying for the repose of the souls of the deceased and wishing the injured persons speedy recovery, she noted that a new date will be announced in due cause
“The summit tagged, “Achieving the SDGs in the first decade” was meant to generate a big conversation among critical stakeholders for action, and the overall objective is of better collaborations and improved partnerships at all levels towards accelerating Economic Growth and Sustainable Development in line with the 2030 global agenda,” the statement said.
