Parents and caregivers have been charged to make their children available for vaccination as Kaduna State commences another round of polio immunisation campaign integrated with measles and meningitis.
The immunisation exercise will be conducted in two phases with the first phase targeted at half of the state’s political wards between 18th to 23rd November, 2021 while the second phase will target the remaining wards between 26th November and 1st December, 2021.
A statement signed by the State Coordinator, Journalists Against Polio (JAP), Kaduna State, Lawal Dogara said immunisation will take place at Health centres, through house-to-house visits, on the streets and markets as well as motor parks among others.
Dogara said that the immunisation would enable children grow healthier and urged parents to ensure they allow the vaccinators attend to their wards.
JAP further explained that during the exercise, a lot of intervention will be provided such as health camps especially in the high-risk areas.
He appealed to health care workers and ad-hoc staff engaged in the conduct of Integrated Immunisation Exercise to ensure all eligible children are reached to prevent outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases in the state and the country.
JAP also commended the traditional and religious leaders for their effort and urged them to do more for the success of the exercise.
