Kaduna moves to check tax leakages

The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) has disclosed that it will deploy liaison officers to all revenue-generating agencies in the state as part of its strategy to check tax leakages in the state.

Executive Director of Corporate Service of KADIRS, Dr Muhammad Lawal, made this known at a One-Day Capacity-Building Workshop on Grievance Redress Mechanisms (GRM) and Gender-Based Complaint Handling for staff of the service organised by Tax Justice and Governance Platform (TJ&GP) with support from Christian Aid.

He said, “We have agreed that we are going to deploy KADIRS staff as liaison officers in all revenue-generating agencies to ensure that whatever is being collected for the government goes into the government coffers. That is what we hope to do in the next couple of weeks.”
