Kaduna: Kidnapped lecturers regain freedom

Three academic staff of Shehu Idris College of Health, Makarfi, Kaduna State who were kidnapped on Sunday have been released, Daily Trust has learnt.

The school administrator, Yusuf Yakubu, confirmed their release to our correspondent in a text message saying they were released at 8pm on Tuesday night.

According to the text message, “Please be informed that the three kidnapped staff of Shehu Idris College of Health Science and Technology were released this night (Tuesday) 8pm. I, the Administrator of the college negotiate with the kidnappers and they released them to me.”

The lecturers, Daily Trust gathered, were kidnapped on Sunday while travelling to Makarfi from Zaria in Kaduna.

Among the kidnapped lecturers were two women, Rabi Dogo and Halimatu Malam, and the Director of the Institution’s Dental School, identified as Dr. Akawo.
