Kaduna Internal Revenue Service host Taraba counterparts

The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) played host to a delegation from Taraba State Internal Revenue Service (TSIRS)under the leadership of the Director of Taxes department, Mrs. Lami Bello and Senior Inspector of Taxes, Mr. Haruna Shamsudeen.

They were received by Dr. Muhammad Lawal, the Executive Director Corporate Service, and Mahmud Waziri, the Director of Administration, Human Resource and Modernization.

Mrs Bello said the purpose of their visit to Kaduna State was to learn more about Gaming, Radio, TV and lottery taxes and various aspects of withholding taxes.

During their time in Kaduna, TSIRS team had the opportunity of interacting with key officials from the above listed units and had a fruitful discussion on the processes of raising assessment, the processes of serving demand notices and the best practices for implementing those taxes.

They also had the opportunity of learning about the importance of withholding tax on rent, withholding tax on commission, withholding tax on dividends, withholding tax on contract and how it could be implemented on their return to Taraba state.

They perused all the features of the digital platform of withholding tax on rent which Kaduna State has been exploring.

The visit was a valuable learning experience for both parties, as they were able to exchange ideas and information that will help the both entities improve their tax collection processes in their respective states. By building a stronger network.
