The Kaduna State Ministry of Human Services and Social Development has taken a significant step towards the economic empowerment of women by inaugurating a 12-member committee tasked with domesticating the National Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) Policy in the state.
Led by Rabi Salisu, the state’s Commissioner for Human Services and Social Development, the committee comprises individuals from diverse backgrounds, each contributing unique expertise and perspectives.
Supported by the Development Research and Projects Centre, the committee is charged with reviewing and critically examining the National WEE Policy to determine its suitability for adoption or adaptation at the state level.
The move aims to develop a Kaduna State Women’s Economic Empowerment policy to serve as the state’s framework for WEE initiatives.
