Kaduna identifies 143 erosion sites in 23 LGAs

Kaduna State said it has identified 143 erosion sites across the 23 local government areas of the state

The State Director of Environment, Mu’azu Usman Yusuf, disclosed this in an interview with Daily Trust.

He added that the ministry is doing a lot to identify areas with ‎such challenges to address them, adding that most of the sites have been documented in the ministry.

“I can authoritatively tell you that we have identified 143 erosion sites across the 23 Local government areas of the state,” he said.

He added that, with the available data, the ministry can avail it to the relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies to come to its aid.

He further stated that, for the 143 sites, the state had engaged the services of consultants to design and ascertain the money required to arrest the situation.
