A pregnant woman has been reportedly killed by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Tuesday evening at her residence in Rigachikun, a suburb of Kaduna metropolis.
A source from the area told our correspondent on Wednesday that the woman was taken away from their residence in Igabi Local Government Area of the state.

The source said the woman was killed by her kidnapers when security operatives engaged them in gun battle in an attempt to rescue her.
Daily Trust later gathered that the husband had alerted the police that his house had been invaded by gunmen, unfortunately, his wife was caught in the exchange of fire.
A family source who gave his name as Usman told our correspondent that the husband was not kidnapped, “He was able to hide from the kidnappers before he called for help so people thought he had also been kidnapped.”
The woman, our correspondent further gathered was pregnant and about to give birth before the ugly incident.
She has already been buried according to Islamic rites.
Kaduna Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Muhammad Jalige is yet to respond to inquiries on the incident.
