Bantex: Kaduna govt declares Monday work-free day

Governor El-Rufai acknowledged the deceased commitment to the progress of Kaduna State and prayed God to grant him peaceful repose

The Kaduna State Government has declared Monday, July 12th 2021 as a work-free day to honour the memory and service of its former Deputy Governor, Barnabas Yusuf Bala Bantex, who died in the early hours of Sunday.

A statement, issued by Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Muyiwa Adekeye, said Malam Nasir El-Rufai had sent a personal message of condolence to the family.

Architect Barnabas Bala Bantex, who served as Deputy Governor of Kaduna State from May 2015 to May 2019, died on Sunday in Abuja after a brief illness.

According to the statement, Governor El-Rufai said it was a blessing to have known and worked with Bantex.

He also acknowledged the deceased’s commitment to the progress of Kaduna State and prayed to God to grant him peaceful repose and to comfort his family.
